Where Does The Time Go

2013 is nearly over and I find myself professionally worse off than I began.  You won't hear me complain as I have a very supportive family, but when the night is still and the stars absent, you may just glimpse the silhouette of a three hundred pound man silently weeping at his lot in life.

Was that melodramatic enough? I can go bigger.  I can make you roll your eyes so far in the back of your head you fall asleep.  Nah, I'm giving myself too much credit there.  I'm fairly sure on my worst day I still seem more upbeat than that cousin of yours who's biggest problem today is that they can only take a five day cruise instead of seven.

Where am I going with all this you may be asking yourself?  Or perhaps you were more curious about that guy behind you breathing on your neck?  You definitely should be more concerned with him.  I mean, he's harmless, but how did he get there?

If you couldn't tell, I'm new to the blogsphere (they still call it that, right?)  I'm a youngish man trapped in an sort of older man's body with a much older man's disposition.  Got all that?  Good, then you're my type of people.

I assure you, if you stick with me, some (by no means all, just some) of my future postings will be less rambly and more coherent.  The sort of thing that will appear in peer reviewed journals or nestled nicely between pictures of half naked women and diet pills.  Lofty goals, I know, but you have to go big or go somewhere else.  They don't always let you come back home.

How's that for a first post?  Did it bore you or blow your mind.   Do you question your existence yet?  How about mine?  There's definitely some tenuous grasping of reality going on round these parts.  Enjoy the ride my friend.
